OUR STORY

HighCountryCandles are hand poured from the best wax on the market: a 90% coconut/10% soy blend. This organic blend is the most sustainable, cleanest and slowest burn. We only use all cotton (or cotton ribbon wicks for 8 oz ) and high quality, luxury scents. We do not dye our wax, and the color is a creamy white.  HCC was created after we experienced headaches from regular candles. We first made our candles from soy, and then evolved to this exceptional wax blend.

We sell our candles in 8oz  black travel tins. (4) 2 oz sampler collection packs are available. We also sell our collections in 8 oz packs. The packs are best for gift giving.

FAQ

Why is the coconut blend wax better than 100% soy wax?

Soy is a great, slow burning wax, but can be farmed using pesticides and fertilizers. Because of the high demand for soy products, environmental groups have concerns about deforestation. Coconuts are more sustainable crop, the wax throws scent better and burns cleaner and slower.

Why don't more candle companies use coconut wax?

Bottom line--it costs more. Coconut wax is almost double the price of soy wax. We encourage customers to compare the price per ounce of candles and compare waxes.

Can I reuse the candle tins?

Yes--we encourage reusing the tins. After the candle has burned, simply wipe out and reuse. Never pour wax down a drain.

Why do my candles give off black smoke or have a tunnel in the middle?

Always trim your wick to 1/4 of an inch to prevent smoking and wick mushrooming. Allow the candle to burn the entire diameter the first burn to prevent tunneling.

Will my candles melt during shipping?

There shouldn't be a problem with candles overheating during shipment. If you live in a hot climate and are expecting a candle shipment, please ensure they are not left out in the heat.

What else do you use in your candles?

We use high quality fragrances that are never tested on animals. Our products are paraben and phthalate-free. We use all cotton wicks. These are highly scented candles. The candles are hand poured, in small batches in Colorado.

Can I return if I do not like?

We accept unlit, undamaged returns. Shipping is at the buyers expense. We do not offer returns on custom orders.
